Katrina Shepard, LICSW, female therapist

Before becoming a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Katrina earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Rhode Island College and her Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University. She engaged in clinical training at VA Boston Healthcare System, and was fortunate to have extensive experience with people from diverse backgrounds, including veterans and their family members. Other populations she is passionate about serving are the LGBTQ community and families of those struggling with substance use.

Katrina has extensive experience with patients struggling with trauma and substance use, as well as providing consultation for medical staff in an integrated primary care setting. With a style that is collaborative, gentle, and direct, she utilizes evidence-based interventions and treatments supported by scientific research, including Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR.  Whether working with individuals or couples, she will often use a combination of treatment approaches that may include CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness practices.

Steve Shepard is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a wide range of clients who experience relationship concerns, anxiety, grief, and trauma. Steve takes a client-centered, collaborative approach in treating both individuals and couples seeking improvements in mood, communication, improved esteem and intimacy. He is trained in evidence-based, cognitive behavioral treatments for depression, anxiety, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Steve is passionate about helping couples achieve their goals together, as well as individually.
